A typical fun day with us at Reykjavik Smartbike!

We had some really fun group from Switzerland to visit and they were up for the guided city tour! As always we welcome our guests with some safety instructions on the electric bike.  Reykjavik is neither big nor dangerous but we at Reykjavik Smartbike put safety first. It was a group of 8 persons and they were ready to roll!!

Of course our guide always leads the way,  first stop- The Sun Voyager

The Sun Voyager is a sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason (1931 – 1989). Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun symbolizing light and hope. Intrinsically, it contains within itself the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom

As always our guide got the common question:“is it a viking ship?”    well… come and visit us and you will find out!!

As we headed towards our beautiful Hallgrímschurch the sun started shining on us.

Hallgrímskirkja (73m/ca. 240ft) is one of the main attractions in Iceland and of course Reykjavík´s main landmark. It can be seen from almost everywhere in the city. Everyday thousands of people visit the church.

At this point everybody got of the bike and took some fun pictures, we are always happy to take group photos, both for us and our guests!

Next on our list was the city hall, which is a beautiful building in the heart of Reykjavik.  and speaking of which… the parliament.

The Parliament is a classical 19th century structure. It houses the Icelandic parliament.

The building was designed by Danish architect Ferdinand Meldahl and built using hewn dolerite blocks during the years 1880 and 1881.

It is always fun to visit the parliament and talk about the icelandic finance crisis, and our guides are ready to answer all sorts of questions. Switzerland is known for their banks as well so in this tour we had a lot to talk about!

The old harbour was next on the list and everybody was getting thirsty, so like an angel fallen from the sky on of our guide came with some icelandic glacier water for the group! Nothing tastes as good as the Icelandic water.

When we came back to our beautiful Harpa concert hall the group was enjoying their stay in Iceland more than ever!

We are  The Reykjavik electric bike rental that offers Reykjavik  electric bike tours, come and  visit us and rent an electric bike in Reykjavik. Electric bike trips in Reykjavik are fun and easy to enjoy.
